Our Travel Tips

In order to get around you will need a car. As stated in our pricing section, included in the price we offer car transportation to and from local car rental services. If you do not speak any French we will happily help arrange car rentals. Please get in touch with use to receive a quote or approximate pricing for car rental during your stay.

By plane… The closest airports are Poitiers (one hour from the house) and Limoges (at about 1h20 minutes from the house). If your flights bring you into Paris you can either rent a car at the airport or travel by train to Poitiers where we will be able to pick you up.

By car… We are located in central France, in the Vienne region, about ten minutes from Montmorillon and an hour from Poitiers and Limoges. The property is nestled in the hamlet of Peumenier on the D120 between Journet and La Trimouille. The house is the first on the right after the Salleron bridge if you are coming from Journet, or the first on the left coming from La Trimouille. Add the address or coordinates into your GPS.

By train…The closest train station is Montmorillon. The TER trains are the only to come to this station. The closest TGV station is Poitiers or Limoges. TGV services run to Tours, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, La Souterraine, Châteauroux, Châtellerault and Angoûleme if these are easier connections.

By ferry…The closest ferry ports are Caen and Dieppe. If you wish to drive down via ferry from the UK we are approximately five hours from most ferry ports.

By Eurotunnel…The Eurotunnel from the UK arrives in Calais which is situated approx. 7 hours from the house.
